Message spacing

The 'Message spacing' property determines how much vertical space Trace Modeler leaves between message call/return arrows. It is also used as a unit for the height of combined fragments and operands.

The value of this property is measured in pixels and ranges from 10 to 30.

It is one of the diagram style properties, the examples below demonstrate its effect on a diagram.

For a visually pleasing diagram, whenever you change the 'Message spacing' property you should consider adjusting the 'Activation width' property as well. The interplay of these two properties has a great effect on how a diagram looks.

To change the 'Message spacing' for a style

  1. Open the 'Diagram style' window
  2. Set the 'Message spacing' spinner control to the desired value
