Install Trace Modeler

Installing Trace Modeler is pretty straightforward, we'll assume you want to put the program files in a location called installation_dir on your file system.

When you've downloaded Trace Modeler from the website, you'll have a downloaded file called tracemodeler-a.b.c.zip

The installation procedure depends on your platform, contact me if you run into any problems.

if you're using a Microsoft Windows platform,

Unzip the downloaded file to installation_dir
[optional] you may want to associate .trace files with the executable installation_dir\tracemodeler.exe
Start Trace Modeler

if you're using Mac OSX / Solaris / Linux / other,

Unzip the downloaded file to installation_dir
[optional] if you want to be able to start Trace Modeler from any directory, you'll need to set an environment variable TRACEMODELER_DIR to installation_dir

put the following line in a shell script, e.g. in $HOME/.bashrc
export TRACEMODELER_DIR=installation_dir

[optional] you may want to associate .trace files with the installation_dir/tracemodeler.sh script
Start Trace Modeler

If you have purchased a license for Trace Modeler, you'll want to install your license key.
